What are the main topics of your work?
The main topics of my work are visitor and educational research including for example in visitor structure analyses, evaluations, and empirical studies on learning in museums.
What is most fascinating about the field of informal education to you?
The most fascinating is the variety and creativity of informal (learning) offerings. Moreover, I like the fact that learning is only one of a variety of different outcomes, and that the participation in informal learning is voluntary.
What insights from the field of informal learning have influenced you/your work the most?
There exists so much great work in this field. The creativity and engagement of the people doing educational work in museums is a point that always fascinates me. Moreover, the field of museum research is something that thrills and influences me a lot. Years ago, I was part of an international project and that opens my eyes regarding existing prejudices about vulnerable people and learning
